How it works

Days = (end − start) ÷ milliseconds per day. Weeks = days ÷ 7. Business days exclude Saturday and Sunday between the two dates. Months and years use calendar math (not simple division of days) to account for varying month lengths.

How are business days counted?

Saturday and Sunday are excluded. Public holidays are not auto-excluded — they vary by country, so we keep the math simple and let you subtract them manually if needed.

Does the calculator count the start day?

No — it returns the days between, not the inclusive count. If you need the inclusive count (e.g. how many days you are on vacation), add 1 to the result.

How accurate are months and years for non-round periods?

Calendar-accurate. The calculator advances month by month to handle 28/30/31-day months and leap years correctly, not 30.44-day approximations.
