How it works

QR codes encode data using one of four error correction levels (L, M, Q, H). Higher levels can survive more damage to the code but reduce the data capacity. We use the qrcode library to render to canvas (PNG) and SVG (vector).

What does error correction level mean?

Higher levels build redundancy into the QR code so it still scans even if part of the image is dirty, scratched, or covered by a logo. Use L for clean digital use, M for general printing, Q or H if you plan to overlay a logo.

How long can the data be?

A QR code can hold up to ~4,000 alphanumeric characters at low error correction. URLs of 100–200 chars produce a clean, scannable code at any level.

Can I add a logo to the QR code?

You can overlay one in any image editor — use error correction level H so the code still scans with up to 30% obscured. We do not embed logo overlay in the tool yet.
